The meat industry has benefited from a joint venture between Scott Technology and Silver Fern Farms Limited (formerly PPCS) forming a research and development company Robotic Technologies Limited (RTL).

The sole focus of RTL is to develop and streamline the meat processing operations using robotic and scanning equipment. 

The Vision Layout

An R&D partnership was formed with the two companies to refine the meat processing industry another quantum leap. In conjunction with New Zealand's meat processing company, Silver Fern Farms and the technology of German robotic manufacturer, Kuka Robotics, meat development projects were created to look at ways to automate the processing of lamb carcasses. 

Robotic Technologies Limited has been established to undertake research and development and to commercialise developed technology in meat automation. RTL holds a Patent on the Scott/Silver Fern Farms Hindquarter machine with patents pending on the Primal and X-ray systems and the Hindquarter machine now commercialised for production.

RTL's vision is to develop a "Fully Automated Lamb Boning Room".
